Two thirds of US broadband homes mull smarthome system buy

Nearly 10 percent of US homeowners with broadband at home, approximately 5 million households, considered purchasing a home security system over the past year but ultimately did not acquire one. Around one-half are still open to adoption, according to a study by Parks Associates. The report also shows that just 2 percent of US broadband households actually acquired a security system over the same time period. The study also found that two-thirds of households without a security system express interest in "smarthome" systems that provide a mixture of safety, security, and home control
