UAE govt considers lifting ban on WhatsApp calls - report

The UAE may soon remove the ban on WhatsApp voice calls, CNBC reported. The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) currently restricts the use of many VoIP applications in the UAE, such as Skype, Tango, FaceTime and Viber. Botim, C'me and YzerChat are the only VoIP apps authorised in the UAE.
