Uber claims surge in German sign-ups

Taxi application provider Uber said it had seen a large increase in sign-ups in Germany. The announcement comes after Frankfurt District Court brought an injunction to prevent the app being used in the country. Uber said in the week to 02 September, sign-ups at least doubled in all five cities where it currently operates, with demand increasing by 590 percent in Hamburg and by 518 percent Dusseldorf . The rates refer to downloads from iTunes, it said. In Munich, sign-ups rose 329 percent, in Berlin, 270 percent, and in Frankfurt, 228 percent. Uber said it is constant dialogue with
