UCC partners with MTN Uganda to launch 22 3G base stations

The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) and MTN Uganda, under the Rural Communications Development Fund (RCDF), has launched 22 3G base stations, marking the start of a national network capable of covering the entire country with broadband internet services. RCDF director Nyombi Tembo said the stations now connect over 700,000 people in economically unviable, underserved or un-served areas of Uganda.
