Uganda to suspend inactive mobile money clients after 9 months

The Ugandan Central Bank says it will suspend every mobile money or electronic money account that does not register a single transaction within nine months, as stipulated under the National Payment Systems Act, The Monitor reported. The Act, passed in 2020, is currently under implementation by the Central Bank.
