Ugandan govt draws up law to curb social media misuse

The Ugandan government is in the process of drafting a Bill which, among others, will punish people who spread fake and illicit information, The Monitor reported. ICT and National Guidance Minister Chris Baryomunsi said the government plans to enact a law that will regulate the way in which Ugandans use social media. He said social media platforms should be used to communicate things that are positive but not to abuse, insult or communicate falsehoods.
