Uganda's ICT Ministry seeks UGX 68 bln to bring internet to Safari parks

Uganda's ICT ministry says it needs UGX 68 billion to connect tourism sites to the internet and other telecom networks. ICT minister Frank Tumwebaze told Daily Monitor the money is needed but was not allocated to his ministry by the ministry of finance. Tumwebaze said the plan is for government to take internet fibre to the tourism sector in the next phase of the national backbone extension.
