UK digital ad spend up 16.4% to GBP 4.78 bln in H1

UK digital ad spend increased by 16.4 percent to GBP 4.78 billion in the first six months of 2016, according to the latest report from the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) and PwC. The rapid growth of time spent on smartphones meant the amount spent on mobile display ads (GBP 802 million) overtook that of PC and tablet display (GBP 762 million) for the first time. In fact, total mobile ad spend, including search and classifieds, increased by 56.1 percent in the first half of the year so that GBP 0.36 in every GBP 1 spent on digital advertising now goes to mobile, up from just GBP 0.04 five
