UK Environment Agency taps CGI for flood forecasting system

Wednesday 11 January 2017 | 10:48 CET | News
CGI was contracted by England's Environment Agency to design, deliver and run England's new Future Flood Forecasting System (FFFS). The contract spans a period of three years and is valued at GBP 5 million. The system is based on CGI's Digital Insight Platform, blending digital technology with data analytics and data management technologies. Running on Microsoft's Azure Cloud, it offers levels of scalability including 'bursting' for times of peak data processing demand during extreme weather and flood conditions.
