UK has become a nation of binge TV viewers - Ofcom

The UK has become a nation of binge viewers, with 8 in 10 adults now watching multiple episodes of their favourite TV shows on catch-up services in a single sitting, according to Ofcom's new Communications Market 2017 report. This trend has been driven by the availability of faster home internet speeds, growth in the number of connected TVs, and increased take-up of smartphones and tablets. The overall communications market was worth GBP 54.90 billion in in 2016, up GBP 0.19 billion (0.4%) from 2015. Average household spend on communications services reached GBP 122.54 per month in 2016.
