UK mobile telephony retail revenues slip 4.4% to GBP 3.8 bln

Estimated retail revenues generated by mobile telephony services in the UK fell 4.4 percent year-on-year to GBP 3.8 billion in the first quarter, according to Ofcom's Telecommunications Market Data Update. Outgoing mobile call volumes decreased by 2.5 percent to 33.4 billion minutes from the previous quarter. Total SMS and MMS message volumes fell by 4.8 billion messages (13.9%) to 29.9 billion messages in the year.
