UK mulls incremental rollout of new EE emergency phone system, or full stop until further review - report

The UK's Home Office has started a review into the Emergency Services Mobile Communication Programme (ESMCP) that will replace the Airwave radio service with a GBP 1.2 billion 4G Emergency Services Network (ESN) run by EE. Ahead of this review, a number of proposals have been put forward: either an incremental rollout of ESN, or an effective shutdown of ESMCP for the emergency services until an unspecified future date, The Register reported.
