UK National Cyber Security Centre starts operations

The UK's new National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has started operations. Part of the intelligence service GCHQ, the centre brings together the information security arm of GCHQ, CESG and the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure, CERT-UK and the Centre for Cyber Assessment. In addition to protecting the country from major threats from hostile states and criminal gangs, the NCSC will work to protect people and businesses from smaller scale but damaging attacks that cause disruption and to help raise awareness on preventive measures. The NCSC will begin its move to its London HQ
