UK smart meter roll-out will cost extra GBP 500 million - National Audit Office

Friday 23 November 2018 | 10:27 CET | News
A report from the National Audit Office (NAO) shows that the UK Government's smart meter roll-out programme is behind schedule and over budget. The number of smart meters installed will fall materially short of the Government's original targets by 2020, and the cost of the programme has increased by GBP 0.5 billion since the Department of Energy's last forecast of GBP 11 billion in 2016 and could increase further.
