UK video market up 10% to GBP 2.3 bln in 2018, with digital sales up 36%

The UK home entertainmen(video) market advanced 10 percent last year to GBP 2.34 billion, according to figures released by the British Association for Screen Entertainment (BASE). Base say 63 percent of people now rent or stream film and TV content, though 37 percent still buy content either on disc or download. Still, over half (59%) of transactional spend is still on physical content, with DVD, Blue-ray and 4K UHD Blue-ray discs acting as key drivers across the market as a whole.
