Under-30s to drive growth in web TV

Web TV services will see significant growth in Germany, driven by TV consumption of 14 to 29 year-olds, according to the interactive M7 TV panel at Media Days in Munich. The podium discussed financing methods for content and the introduction of a common "currency" for pay TV. Advertising is expected to remain the most important source of revenue over the next few years. Moreover, the participants presented four theses that were put to a vote in the audience. The most popular thesis (supported by 90%) predicted that by 2020, all 14 to 19 year-olds would access video content via mobile devices.
