Unions want to stop sale of Portugal Telecom

Sunday 19 October 2014 | 21:33 CET | News
Trade unions representing workers of Portugal Telecom who met with the new president of PT Portugal, Joao do Mello Franco, have said that they will work to stop the sale of the Portuguese telecommunications company, reports Jornal de Negocios. They said that the sale of PT Portugal will not be an easy process unless there are "very solid explanations". The meeting and the statements come after press reports that Brazilian operator Oi plans to sell PT Portugal, with Altice already emerging as a candidate.
