The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) has signed a partnership agreement with the UAE Space Agency. The parties will cooperate in research-based cooperation and knowledge-sharing, with the intention of supporting the space sector through science, education, technology and applications.

It is envisioned that the agency’s satellite programme will be utilised to observe the impact of environmental phenomena occurring in the UAE. The agreement is particularly relevant to AURAK, whose School of Engineering runs ten undergraduate programmes and a master’s programme. Its programmes in computer science and electronics and communications engineering programmes both received ABET accreditation in July 2016.
