UOKiK fines Polkomtel for automatically activated services

Polish antimonopoly and consumer protection authority UOKiK has imposed a fine of PLN 39.4 million on mobile operator Polkomtel for unlawfully collecting fees that exceeded the subscription fee for nine automatically activated services, such as "Czasoumilacz" or "Serwis obslugi". The operator did not have the explicit consent of subscribers for the payments.
