UPC/Liberty Global puts focus on cloud, mobile, security

Cable operator UPC said it long-term plans give priority space to new developments such as cloud and mobile networks and services, UPC Netherlands CTO Giovanni Piccirilli told NLKabel. Piccirilli said a range of content and services based on the cloud is in line with customers wanting to access content anytime and from any device. The development of a Virtual Personal Video Recorder (PVR), an ongoing innovation from Liberty Global, is an example of this.
