Urban Communications launches IPTV beta service

Canadian Gigabit ISP Urban Communications has launched a pilot IPTV service with select residences in the Burnaby and Coquitlam areas of greater Vancouver, BC. The service offers access to 251 HD and SD content channels. The basic package includes 90 channels of which 35 are HD, for CAD 29 per month, as well as the ability to watch live TV on most Android devices. A full launch of the IPTV service and availability to all Urbanfibre Internet subscribers is scheduled for the second quarter.
