Uruguay delays introduction of MNP following administrator issues

Monday 17 May 2021 | 13:48 CET | News
Uruguay's communications regulator Ursec said it has postponed the introduction of a mobile number portability (MNP) process in the country after the procedure to appoint a database administrator was delayed. The watchdog was due to open the applications on 13 May but, according to Telesemana, the five bidders submitted various objections regarding technical conditions, forcing Ursec to review the process to ensure full transparency. A new opening date will be communicated in a timely manner, said the regulator.
