US asks Facebook for info on 20,000-21,000 user accounts

The US presented Facebook with 11,000-12,000 requests into user data, asking for information about 20,000-21,000 accounts, with Facebook giving at least some data for 79 percent of the requests. Facebook released its first Global Government Requests Report, covering the first half of the year. The report details which countries requested information from Facebook about its users, how many requests came from each country, how many user/user accounts were specified in each request, and what percentage of the requests Facebook was required by law to disclose at least some data.
