US cable operators add 790,000 broadband customers in Q3

The seventeen biggest cable and telephone providers in the US added about 645,000 net high-speed internet subscribers in the third quarter, according to Leichtman Research. The top broadband providers accounted for 89.5 million subscribers, or around 94 percent of the market. This includes the top cable companies adding 790,000 broadband customers to reach almost 54.3 million and the top phone companies lost 140,000 broadband subscribers, declining to over 35.2 million.
