US cable, telcos add 580,000 broadband customers in Q3

The largest cable and telephone providers in the US, representing around 95 percent of the market, gained 580,000 net broadband internet subcribers in the third quarter, against a pro forma gain of 390,000 the year before, according to the latest study from Leichtman Research Group. This marks the first increase in customers since Q3 2014. For the first nine months of the year, cable companies added 2.165 million customers while telcos lost 325,000.
