US digital ad spend up 29% in Q4, highest in 20 years

US digital ad revenues soared 29 percent year on year to reach USD 45.6 billion in the final quarter of 2020, the highest quarterly result in 20 years, according to the latest update from IAB. The surge was attributed to a rebound following a Covid-induced drop in the first half of 2020, coupled with holiday season sales, "use-it-or-lose-it" year-end spending of media budgets and revenue from political advertising.
