US govt files lawsuits against parties accused of making 'hundreds of millions' of fraudulent robocalls

The US government has filed a number of civil actions against five companies and three people accused of making hundreds of millions of fraudulent robocalls. The actions were filed in two landmark cases by the Department of Justice after many warnings. The calls, mainly from India, caused massive financial losses to elderly and vulnerable victims, the DoJ said.
