US homes have 5.3 connected devices on average - survey

US households currently have 5.3 connected devices, on average, with over 37 percent of homes in the 4-8 device range, according to an annual survey of 1,000 households by Chetan Sharma Consulting. The survey found that nearly 6 percent of homes have 15 or more connected devices. The market researcher estimates that each US household will spend approximately USD 3,800 on access and devices in 2015, with USD 3,000 going on access services and the remainder on devices.
