US music streaming revenues advance 5.6% to USD 5.7 bln in H1

Paid subscriptions increased 14 percent to USD 3.8 billion, now making up an ever larger proportion of revenues, at 67 percent of the total. They also accounted for 79 percent of total streaming revenues. RIAA noted that paid subscription revenues grew faster in the second quarter that in the first.  The number of paid subscriptions also continued to increase, rising 24 percent on average to 72 million at the end of June. This means over 1 million net additions per month, not including limited tier subscriptions. By comparison, subscription numbers amounted to 58.2 million at June 2019, 43.7
