US pay TV 'Defectors' outnumber 'Desirers' nearly 2 to 1

Almost a third of all US consumers, over 70 million people, are thinking of making changes to their pay TV service, with "Defectors" more than twice as common as "Desirers" of more TV service, according to new research from GfK. Some 50 million people (21% of the population) are described as Defectors, who have reduced their cable or satellite pay TV service or are thinking of doing so. On the other hand, there are around 22 million Desirers (9% of the population), who are generally loyal to traditional pay TV and/or are thinking of adding services.
