US pay-TV providers lost almost 5 mln subscribers last year - study

The largest pay-TV providers in the US, representing a full 95 percent of the market, lost over 4.9 million net video subscribers last year, a jump from the year before's loss of almost 1.6 million. Among all the companies surveyed, only the Hulu+Live TV and Sling TV services bucked the trend and added customers.
