US pay-TV providers see customer losses grow to nearly 2.9 mln in 2018

US pay-TV providers lost 2.875 million customers in 2018, up from a loss of about 1.51 million in 2017, according to Leichtman Research Group. Satellite services suffered the heaviest losses, at an estimated 2.36 million or 7.5 percent of their total, followed by 910,000 fewer cable TV customers, a drop of 1.9 percent.
