US pay-TV spending to peak in 2019 - study

Annual spending on subscription video and TV services in the US will peak at USD 130.3 billion in 2019 before starting to fall, according to the latest forecast from Strategy Analytics. Despite the many reports of cord-cutting, the established pay-TV firms such as Comcast and AT&T are still expected to account for over 80 percent of the market revenues in 2022, the market researcher expects. Emerging competitors such as Netflix and Amazon will have less than 20 percent of the market until "beyond 2022".
