US ranks 7th worldwide for download speeds, 27th for up - Ookla

The US took seventh place in the world for fixed download speeds, between Hungary and Switzerland, with its rank sliding to 27th for upload speeds, between Bulgaria and Canada. Ookla conducted the study in the second and third quarter. In the US download speeds rose 35.8 percent in the 12 months, upload speeds lifting 22 percent. Average speeds went to 38.09 Mbps down and 37.76 Mbps up.
