US seeks extradition of Kickass Torrents owner from Poland

US authorities have charged the alleged owner of what is thought to be the most visited illegal file-sharing website with criminal copyright infringement and have seized domain names associated with the website. Artem Vaulin, 30, of Kharkiv, Ukraine, was arrested in Poland, and the US is seeking extradition of him, the Department of Justice announced. A criminal complaint, filed in US District Court in Chicago, charges him with copyright infringement and money laundering, leading to a loss of over USD 1 billion in profits for the US entertainment industry.
