US sees 22% increase in unlocked phones in past year

The number of unlocked mobile phones in the US increased 22 percent in the past year to 46.5 million active devices in Q1, according to research from NPD. The company found three out of four (77%) consumers reported awareness of unlocked devices, as exposure in retail and digital channels continues to grow.
