UTI denies creating monopoly in Bucharest internet market

Tuesday 26 March 2013 | 09:14 CET | News
Romanian telecommunications company UTI rejected an accusation from Romania's National Association of Internet Service Providers (ANISP) that it created a monopoly in the capital Bucharest with abusive tariff increases on its fibre network, writes local paper Ziarul Financiar. UTI, whose unit Netcity Telecom received the concession for Bucharest's underground fibre network from the Bucharest City Hall, recognised that ANISP was right to say that Netcity offers discounts to large telecom operators. Nonetheless, it said that it does not believe that this business strategy distorts competition.
