Uztelecom achieves 10% increase in ARPU with Nexign

Nexign's Converged BSS said it enabled Uzbekistan’s national operator Uztelecom to add 1.6 million subscribers to its customer base and reduce time-to-market for new products and services from two months to two weeks. Nexign helped Uzbektelecom reduce time-to-market for new products and services from two months to two weeks. With the launch of new multi-platform services and tariffs, the operator's customer base increased by more than 1.6 million subscribers. The company's revenue per user (ARPU) after the migration to Nexign’s solution increased by 10 percent. 

Nexign, part of ICS Holding, works as a BSS and IoT services provider. The company has announced the successful completion of a billing systems modernisation project for Uztelecom.   

Uzbektelecom's local telecom network includes more than 2,000 telephone exchanges with a capacity of over 2 million telephone numbers.    

In 2018, Uztelecom faced the challenge of replacing its five separate BSS systems with a single convergent system. The provider also needed to reduce its time-to-market (TTM) for new products and services, to streamline the creation of bundles for subscribers and to reduce operational costs.   

After an open tender, Uztelecom chose Nexign as its billing systems provider. 

Nexign Converged BSS, which includes a number of online charging and policy control products from the Nexign Network Monetisation Suite, provided comprehensive support for all key business processes of Uzbektelecom. The project consisted of two stages. The first stage included the deployment of the billing system and migration of mobile subscribers to the new solution. The second stage included migration of the company’s fixed and broadband subscribers. 

As the result of the modernisation project Uztelecom reached full mobile-fixed convergence, including broadband network and IPTV services. Nexign's system allowed Uztelecom subscribers to have a single bill for various services. In addition, the implementation of Nexign Converged BSS enabled Uzktelecom to optimise the costs of maintaining BSS systems, including CRM, roaming, interconnection and debt management.
