V2V communications to reach 62 mln vehicles by 2023 - study

Wednesday 12 December 2018 | 08:45 CET | News
Over 62 million vehicles in the world will be capable of V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) communication by 2023, up from just over 1.1 million in 2019, according to new report from Juniper Research. The main factor behind the average annual growth rate of 173 percent over these 4 years will be rollouts of 5G networks, anticipated to launch next year, predicted the report, adding that automotive OEMs will gravitate towards 5G for V2V communication over other technologies due to its lower latency and high range.
