Vaizey says some internet blackspots may not be connected

Thursday 14 April 2016 | 15:15 CET | News
Digital Economy Minister Ed Vaizey has admitted that some people in isolated rural areas may miss out of taxpayer-funded broadband despite a UK Government promise to deliver universal superfast speeds, reports The Telegraph. Vaizey told MPs on the culture, media and sport committee that he could not guarantee that all premises were going to get 10 Mbps, but added that this should be 'potentially possible'. Vaizey hinted that the right for everyone to request a minimum 10 Mbps connection could come into force as early as 2017.
