Viaccess-Orca join forces with French research institute b<>com to fight video piracy

Orange subsidiary Viaccess-Orca (VO) has become a member of French research institute b<>com to collaborate on innovative ways to prevent pirates from redistributing streamed content illegally. The two partners have already worked together on an algorithm-based tool that enables the real-time digital marking of video streams, including 4K formats, regardless of the device used to access the content. Called dynamic watermarking, this approach also helps broadcasters and rights holders identify the source of the piracy.
