Viasat to acquire Inmarsat for USD 7.3 billion

Viasat has signed a deal to acquire Inmarsat for USD 7.3 billion. The payment will include USD 850 million in cash, 46.36 million shares worth USD 3.1 billion on 5 Novermber, and the assumption of USD 3.4 billion worth of net debt. The new company will focus on enabling the availability of new services in mobile and fixed segments for broadband communications and narrowband services, including the Internet of Things.
