Viavi revenues down 8% in Q1, posts USD 78 mln profit

Viavi Solutions reported revenues down 8.2 percent year on year to USD 210.8 million in its fiscal first quarter to 01 October. The network performance and monitoring specialist, which was spun off from JDSU last year, said its net profit for the quarter came to USD 78.0 million, or USD 0.33 per share, up from a net loss of USD 64.5 million, or USD 0.28 per share, in the previous quarter. The company said its network and service enablement (NSE) and Optical Security and Performance (OSP) segments exceeded their operating margin guidance range, leading to a 13.0 percent operating margin, above
