VinaPhone, MobiFone set to submit 3G proposals

Vietnamese mobile operators MobiFone and VinaPhone are set to submit 3G proposals to the ministry of posts and telematics in February, local media report. VinaPhone plans to test 3G services with Nokia equipment between February and August with the commercial launch before year-end. MobiFone just completed a two-year trial and hopes to launch services commercially this year. VinaPhone will initially offer 3G services in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and by late 2008 it would expand to other cities in Vietnam. VNPT's proposal has faced delays due to the level of detail required by the ministry
