Vip Operator sees 13.1% drop in Q2 revenue

Macedonian mobile telephony operator Vip Operator ended the second quarter with revenue of EUR 14.3 million, a 13.1 percent drop on a year earlier. This was mainly driven by a 70 percent reduction in national mobile termination rates in November 2013, which weighed on interconnection revenues. EBITDA fell 25.7 percent to EUR 2.5 million, and EBIT dropped 73.6 percent to EUR 0.3 million. ARPU amounted to EUR 7.00, down 15.1 percent from a year earlier, and the mobile subscriber base totaled 619,900, down 0.2 percent. Compared to March, the operator lost 2,300 customers.
