Virgin considers sVOD launch in Australia - report

A consortium with links to Virgin Group is investigating partnerships with some of Australia's major TV networks to launch a subscription ­video-on-demand service over ­broadband. Media and movie executives representing the consortium have recently met with Australian TV executives on the proposal, the Australian Financial Review reported. The new service could be distributed through Virgin's airline and MVNO in the country. The paper also said that cinema chain Hoyts Group has held preliminary discussions with Seven West Media about potential collaboration on a video-on-demand product, which
