Virgin, Digicel interested in Bahamas mobile licence

Virgin Mobile and Caribbean mobile operator Digicel have expressed interests in offering mobile telephony services in The Bahamas, the Nassau Guardian reports, citing the country's Prime Minister Perry Christie. The government of The Bahamas expects to award a new licence for the provision of mobile telephony services next year. The government said that spectrum has been made available in the 700 MHz, 850 MHz, 1700/2100 MHz and 1900 MHz bands.
