Visual Shazaming is on the way - CEO

UK software developer Shazam, whose flagship product allows users to identify music they can hear in their environment, has developed an app capable of identifying physical objects, the Telegraph reports. The "Visual Shazaming" app will take photos of objects such as food packets, DVDs and other products to access more detailed information on contents. CEO Rich Riley told the Telegraph at MWC, "The same way we use Shazam to identify music, we're extending that verb into other things." He did not provide further information on how the system would work, but goods such as DVDs and food packets
