Vivendi to buy 30 percent of Mars Film

Vivendi has announced that it will buy a 30 percent stake in French film producer and distributor Mars Films for an undisclosed amount. Stephane Celerier, Mars Films chairman, has also been appointed as vice-chairman of StudioCanal. Didier Lupfer, Canal Plus group executive vice president in charge of cinema, has taken on the additional role of chairman of StudioCanal, replacing former chairman and CEO Olivier Courson, who is leaving the group to pursue an entrepreneurial project. In addition to the recent agreements with the French movie industry, Vivendi intends, with Canal Plus, to step up
