Vizio says viewing on smart TVs leaps 20% to over 1 trln minutes in 2020

Vizio smart TVs viewing rose 20.3 percent to 1.1 trillion minutes in 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to online publication Deadline.com citing an announcement by the manufacturer. Vizio said it added 150 new free linear channels in 2020 and offered access to apps like Disney+ and Peacock. Overall streaming of ad-supported programming on Vizio rose 226 percent, with Vizio SmartCast's home screen growing 142 percent since the start of the pandemic in March.
